Archived Prayer Requests for May 2012

In an attempt to remember God's faithfulness, I always archive prayer requests from previous months. These are those we presented on the blog for the month of May 2012.





5/31/12: Mom of 2 is being baptized next week. Pray for her as she is affirming her new life in Jesus!

5/22/12: Mom of 1 has child support hearing with child's father  on June 18th. He is contesting the amount he is in arrears. The discrepancy is in part due to childcare expenses. Please pray for mom's peace and for the judge to fairly and accurately assess the situation, plus enforce mom's right to the money that is owed to her child. Update 6/18/12: Mom of 1 will have to return to court 7/31/12 unless she is willing to accept less child support. Update 8/2/12: see praise update

5/6/12: Please be in prayer for our Single Moms' Night Out event scheduled for Friday, May 18th. We have several new families participating and we're excited to begin new relationships with these families. 5/18/12: Our fourth SMNO went well. We had 5 children no-show, yet still had 7 attend. Along with 5 teen helpers and another mom to assist, God more than amply provided volunteers and donations for pizza. He is always faithful!

5/4/12: Mom of 4 is experiencing a long delay for divorce to be finalized. This puts plans for residence and enrolling her children in a new school on hold for most of the summer. Please pray for her peace and for God to put everything together for His glory. Pray that fears and doubts will not assail her and for God to protect her from the enemy's fiery arrows. 6/12/12: Even in the midst of the storm, God's Presence continues to provide peace. Please continue to pray. 

Archived April 2012 Prayer Requests

4/25/12: Mom of 2 that home schools is experiencing conflict with her ex-husband of the education of her children. He's gone so far as to sue for sole custody. Please pray for this mom's peace, for understanding and openness to home schooling by the authorities that will be presiding over this future decision. Pray for the mom as she struggles financially, emotionally and physically under this burden that has been hurled upon her. Also, please pray for peace for her children. 5/18/12: Trial date set for the end of May. Please continue to pray. 6/12/12: Judge has extended the trial date so that psychiatric evaluations may be performed.

4/16/12: We have the next Single Moms' Night Out scheduled for Friday, May 18th. Please be in prayer that the moms who need this break will feel comfortable taking advantage of this opportunity. Also, please pray for volunteers and donations to come forward as God leads and provides like He always does. See 5/18/12 update for 5/6/12 request.

4/16/12: Mom of 4 requests prayer for her tenants in a rental property to cooperate so she can move back in by May 8th. Also that her ex-husbands trial/plea bargain process to finish smoothly and for her divorce to finalize in the near future. Update 5/25/12: Mom and family have settled back into their home. 

Archived March 2012 Prayer Requests

3/26/12: As Boundless Ministries looks forward to our second year, please pray for God's continued leading, guidance and provision. From day 1, we have said this is His ministry to do with as He pleases. Continuing in that path is our hope and plan. We know He wants to lead, pray we'll be open to seeing and hearing His call!

3/26/12: Mom of 1 has had long battle regarding custody & has so far agreed to many disadvantages for herself just to keep the peace for her child, but the demands continue and have gotten out of hand. Please pray for her wisdom, peace and for her child's peace & protection as her ex is attempting to put the child between them.
3/26/12: Mom of 4 has court date to finalize divorce in early May. Mediation could not be agreed upon over custody concerns. Please pray for her continued peace through this trying time. 5/4/12: This date was just to go before the judge and confirm they needed to set a trial date. Date has been set for August 2012.

3/3/12: Please pray for our daughter, Abigail, as the Holy Spirit is laying upon her heart a passion for foreign missions. She is excited about the prospect of where and when He may lead. I too am excited for her! My prayer is that she will have clear discernment from God's faithful Spirit as to how she can best prepare for her future serving Him. I am praising Him that He has already intersected her journey with a great couple who are full-time missionaries through Master Provisions and this relationship offers great wisdom and insight for Abbey. 5/1/12: Abbey is going to have an opportunity to attend a leadership conference for youth in June at Holland, MI. Continue to pray for God to speak to her heart. This could be a life-changing event.

Archived February 2012 Prayer Requests

2/28/12: Mom of 4 requests prayer for a second court mediation with her ex-spouse on 3/19/12. Many financial and way-of-life decisions will be necessary soon. Please pray for peace as she seeks God's wisdom and leading in all the choices she must make. 3/20/12: Ex-spouse wouldn't agree on any details of custody and housing. 5/4/12 they go before a judge to set a trial date.

2/5/12: Mom of 3 is desperate for some financial relief. Please pray for God to give His wisdom on the direction she should go in regards to work,schooling her children, housing and bills.

Archived Prayer Requests for January 2012

1/27/12: Mom of 4 is praying for her bankruptcy filing to go quickly and smoothly so her divorce can be finalized. She is also seeking wisdom and guidance about budgeting time for her kids and her schooling. She has a tough winter/spring semester and wants to balance family/school time well. 5/1/12: Mom of 4 was recently admitted to Phi Theta Kappa fraternity for having a 4.0 GPA!

1/27/12: Mom of 3 is experiencing continued financial difficulties. She needs God's wisdom and guidance as she faces choices regarding housing, employment and finances in the immediate days ahead.
1/24/12: Mom of 2 in Indianapolis needs prayer because her son, in his 20's, died yesterday. Please pray for her Abba's Presence to be very real, very close and very protective of her spirit in the days, weeks and even months to come.

1/23/12: Please pray for our Single Moms' Night Out on Friday, the 27th. Praise that God has provided, families have signed up, volunteers are scheduled & we pray for a good time! 2/2/12: Praise that the Single Moms' Night Out went off without a hitch! Thankful for all of the volunteers and donations that helped give some moms a much deserved night off!

1/23/12: Mom of 3 is in immediate need of new housing option. Please pray for God to lead & guide the process and make the transition comfortable for the kids.

1/23/12: I apologize, but there has apparently been a glitch with blogger.com and two months worth of prayer requests have "disappeared" into the great unknown. As I recall the ones we've been given over the last few months, I'll attempt to re-post them.

Archived November 2011 Prayer Requests

11/14/11: In the process toward filing for non-profit, tax-exempt status for Boundless Ministries, there are a few forms to file and fees to pay. We are so thankful for the accountants that sat down with us to explain the process and who took personal time to research the information. Please pray for us to follow God's leading on the timing for when to file (the fee could change soon). We also have to trust His Provision for this fee. There are also a few details regarding the setup of the "board" that we are seeking His wisdom. We know He will lead and guide and pray for our openness and obedience to Him!

11/9/11: Mom of 4 needs several car repairs for which she has no funds. Please pray for God's provision in His perfect timing. Also please pray that her car will not have any major malfunctions before the repairs/maintanence can be completed. 11/13/11: Mom received a very large gift that covered her car repairs! God be praised!

11/9/11: Mom of 1 is starting a new business which can be financially draining at times. She also has a rental home in which the occupants are behind in their rent. Please pray for the Holy Spirit's wisdom and discernment as she works through both situations. She wants to do the right thing by her tenants who do take good care of the property, but it is reaching a point where a decision will soon need to be made.

11/7/11: Expectant mom has been put on bedrest due to high blood pressure. Pray this doesn't develop into pre-eclampsia and that the baby arrives healthy closer to her due date of November 30th! 11/13/11 Update: Baby is still not here, but Mom has been in and out of hospital for the last week. Please continue to pray for her health and the baby's!

11/3/11: Mom of 3 is four credit hours short of completing her Associates Degree and she has exhausted all government grant money for it. At this point, she will either have to come up with the money on her own to complete her degree. Please pray that God's will be done. If she is to complete her degree, please pray that God will miraculously provide the money or show her how to obtain the funds herself. 11/5/11: I don't have all of the details for this yet, but Mom found out her college is giving her an extension to complete her degree! Wow! What a God we serve!

11/1/11: Single expectant mom has been sent home from work until the delivery of her baby. Her due date is 11/30/11 so she is still over 4 weeks away. But the baby is showing signs of being near delivery so the doctor has told her to stop work and rest. Please pray that the baby stays put until her lungs have had time to develop and she can be delivered healthy and strong. Also, the additional financial burden of not working is ill-timed for the struggles this mom is currently facing. Please pray for God's provision throughout the next few weeks.11/7/11: See updated request for this day.

Archived Prayer Requests October 2011

10/28/11: Urgent! Single expectant mom has had electricity shut off and is in immediate need of assistance. Please pray she is led to the right agency, church or individual who can provide advice and/or financial assistance. Also pray for her peace as she is within one month of delivery and stress is not good for her or the baby at this time. Also pray that God will help her see His Light at the end of the tunnel so this time of anticipating the birth of her child is a joyous one...not one filled with worry, fear or doubt! 10/28/11: Spoke with this mom this evening and she is doing much better. She actually discovered one outlet that is working and is making the most of it. Creativity at it's best! We've also had a donation come in for her through paypal that we'll be getting to her as soon as it is transferred. After having a bad experience with a local "charity" chastising her for "not being responsible" she was near tears to hear that someone she's never met has committed some assistance to her. Please continue to pray as she sorts through this situation and prepares for the delivery of her child. 10/31/11: The money from paypal has arrived, she's also receiving a loan for the week from another friend...so her power should be restored this evening. God's provision will give her great peace now that this crisis has passed!

10/25/11: Mom of 3 needs employment soon. She is open to all possibilities, but the desire of her heart is to find something to do from home: i.e. childcare, clerical, etc. 11/1/11: Some good options are opening up for this mom, please continue to pray for God's wisdom and guidance as she seeks to do His will.

10/22/11: Soon to be expectant mom needs prayer support for direction regarding affordable childcare. There will be many needs that in the coming weeks will arise, pray that she can sort through the most pressing needs and that God will supply them in His time and a way that it is obviously from Him. 10/31/11: Three or four options were sent to us to check out and this mom now feels like she has a little more direction about where to start looking for childcare. Continue to pray for God to lead the way and for her to recognize His guidance as to where she should place her child.

10/21/11: Urgent Request! Mom of 3 is very low on heating oil and can't afford the hundreds of dollars it will take for the oil truck to make a delivery. She must purchase a minimum of 150 gallons of fuel. We know God will provide, please pray for this mom's peace during the wait! 11/3/11: This mom found out she could now get a delivery with a minimum of 100 gallons of heating oil. God provided a donation to cover that amount! Praise Him! Read more about this in The Widow of Zarephath

10/21/11: I received an e-mail today from my friend Cat who'd heard of an expecting mom who is going through a divorce and needs assistance in anyway possible. Please pray that as I approach this mom, she truly senses my desire to help her in any way that God provides. I know we can't meet all of her needs, but I know the God who can! 10/22/11: See request of 10/22/11 above. This mom is excited to hear of an opportunity for assistance. Please continue to pray for her as she begins the journey of motherhood.

10/21/11: Praise for a local mechanic that works out of his home approached me today and offered his services to any single moms that might need assistance. Please pray that as needs arise, the money for parts will become available in God's timing and in His way. This mechanic is willing to do even major repairs for parts cost only or greatly reduced rates. You can read more about this at So Sometimes I Drag My Feet

10/21/11: Soon to be new mom is moving to the Northern Kentucky area and is in need of not only medical care and baby items, but also prayers for her parents as they transition together in anticipation of the new baby. Pray that God coordinates resources, financial assistance and spiritual wisdom for her family throughout the coming months. 2/5/12: Praise that baby arrived safely and mom is transitioning into completing her education. Pray for a continued amicable relationship between mom and her parents that she is now living with.

Mom and baby are doing well. Please continue to pray for this family in the coming months as they all adjust together.

September 2011 Prayer Requests (Archived)

9/26/11: Mom of 1 at home, new to the Northern Kentucky area, is in need of immediate assistance for food, clothing and medical care. Pray that God leads them directly to the ones that can help them best and that His provision will bring peace in this chaotic season of life. 10/01/11: God has been providing for some of this family's very practical needs. Continue to pray that He will go before them as she faces expenses with medical care and pursuit of employment.

9/18/11: As we look forward to beginning a Bible study/small group for single moms, pray for us to be faithful to follow the Holy Spirit's leading and never run ahead of His work or His timing. Also pray that our facilities can always accomodate the families that want to attend. We're praying for godly men and woman, as couples, to be raised up and join us in sacrificially pouring ourselves into the lives of single moms and their families. 10/01/11: We begin this new phase of Boundless Ministries on 10/02/11. please continue to pray that God will provide and be the ONLY One to lead, guide and direct this ministry.

9/16/11: A situation occurred during preparation for the 24-Hour Famine Event that has caused me (Angela) to begin to doubt some next steps I believed Holy Spirit had laid out for this ministry. Please pray for Him to give me courage, discernment and faith as I follow Him step by step. Update 9/26/11: God continues to be faithful in granting courage. Also communication with the ones that caused confusion and a minor uproar during the Famine Event has been clarified and the offending parties are amicably working with us again. Praise God...He always prepares the way!

9/16/11: Continue to pray for Mom of 3 as she struggles with overwhelming financial burdens. She also needs strength and endurance as she disciplines and guides her children. With no backup to "tag team" at home, the responsibility and simple fatigue of 24 hour parenting comes with burdens that few of us can understand. Pray for Holy Spirit power to aid her and give her peace as He leads her in His way. 9/16/11: God supplied a $200 donation to Boundless Ministries which helped to provide a few gift cards to two families and will provide childcare money for the upcoming Bible study/small group. Praise Him!

9/16/11: HUGE Praise for God's provision during the 24-Hour Famine and subsequent event on
9/11/11. We're so thankful to all who participated either through fasting, fundraising or both! The opportunity to meet business owners in the area and begin relationships with them was a huge blessing as well!

9/3/11: Mom of 3 has a brother who pastors in Puyallup, WA. She received the following e-mail about her brother today: "Pastor ________ suffered two seizures last night and was taken to the hospital after the first one. One was about a 3-4 minute seizure during his sleep at home and then he suffered a two minute seizure in the ER. His heart rate got as low as 26 in the ER during his second seizure. He is now home and is on the mend and is very sore. He will be unable to drive for 6 months. Please pray for his full and rapid recovery." 9/8/11: Update- Pastor is on anti-seizure medication and doing better. Scheduled for more testing soon.

August 2011 Prayer Requests (Archived)

8/29/11: 24-Hour Update for prayer: We've received numerous donations from area businesses. Please continue to pray for there to be an amazing outpouring of God's Spirit and that hearts will be moved to donate to this amazing African Relief effort through Kids Against Hunger. I would love for September 11th to be so covered in prayer that God can show up and do amazing things!!! 9/16/11: Over $877 raised so far with more to come in! God has provided for 7 children to receive life-sustaining meals for the next year! What an amazing blessing to be a part of His global work!

8/25/11: Pray for Mom of 4 as she seeks wisdom and answers regarding provision and interaction with her former spouse. God's timing will be perfect. Pray for her peace in the waiting. 9/16/11: Mom of 4 has recently experienced great freedom through prayer. She feels that the shackles of past pain, wrongs and inappropriate guilt have fallen away. She continues to seek God's perfect will in His plan for proceeding in school, provision for her children and to be at peace with her ex-husband no matter the choices he makes.

8/21/11: Pray that Holy Spirit will move the hearts of His people and of those that may not even know Him yet to help end the horrible famine in the "Horn of Africa". Pray for us to follow the Holy Spirit's leading as we prepare for the 24-hour Famine Event and confidentally anticipate His glory and power. Pray for God to passionately plant a seed of compassionate service in His people. We would love to see dozens if not hundreds of people participate in some way to see God's dream come to fruition! Amen! 8/22/11: Praise- We received our first donation and it will feed one child for over 2.5 months!!! God is working out the details and others are catching the vision and the passion for raising money and awareness about this devastating famine. Continue to pray for God to do amazing things that only He can do through the power of His Holy Spirit. 8/29/11: Praise- We have received numerous donations and commitments to donate from Hebron area businesses. See the 24-Hour Famine Event Page for how you can participate. 9/16/11: Praise: God provided through many unexpected venues for these children to receive the food they need to survive. He is STILL working and STILL moving the hearts of His people! 9/26/11: Final Update/Praise: Final total raised for KAH $1000.30. Our family, along with another friend, was able to be part of almost 300 people packing food on 9/24/11. 85, 536 meals were packed!!! What an amazing God we serve!

8/16/11: Pray for Mom of 1 that God will speak to her heart clearly what direction He has for her. As she contemplates choices and decisions (schooling options for her child and what to do regarding living arrangements for herself) pray that God's voice will rise above the others that are vying for her attention. 8/23/11: Praise- Mom of 1 was able to enroll her child in a local private school and received financial aid to make it possible. She's also moving forward regarding decisions for housing. She will still have many needs over the coming weeks. Continue to pray for God to work out the details and for her to follow His clear leading through it all.

8/11/11: Urgent prayer request for Mom of 5 (4 still at home) who receives no support from her estranged husband. Today she received call that her vehicle would be repossessed. She had already made arrangements to look for employment tomorrow, but without a vehicle, this appears impossible. Yet, with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). She has heard from the bank that they will delay repossession until tomorrow (8/12/12) so she can attempt to get money to them. She is contacting her church to see if they can provide assistance. Please pray this situation will work out for her good and God's glory. He is Jehovah Jireh...the God Who Will See To It! Update 8/16/11: Mom has started a new job effective 8/15/11 and is still in need of affordable childcare options. Repossession of vehicle has been temporarily delayed, please continue to pray for financial provision and direction to be given by God. Update 9/16/11: Mom was recently blessed with FREE assistance to get an old unused car working again!

8/6/11: In recent weeks, God has laid on my heart two very specific dreams for Boundless Ministries. One a short-range dream the other a HUGE one, probably long-range one. But in recent posts (Some More Praise! and A Few Little Things) I've shared about how I'm learning that He delights in sharing both with us. These desires came from Him, so I know He'll provide (Psalm 37:4). Please pray for me to recognize His perfect timing and to faithful obey where He leads. Also important for my personality is to pray that I will not develop preconceived notions about how He will accomplish these desires. Pray I stay open to His leading no matter what. Just as important, I always pray that God would confirm with Dale anything that He calls me to. 9/16/11: Update- As we look forward to one of these dreams soon coming to fruition, some situations have occurred that the enemy has used to cause doubt, fear and concern. Please continue to pray for God's leading and His obvious will for this ministry. Pray for Him to increase our courage, show us HIS direction and to give us the faith to see it through as He leads.

8/3/11: Urgent prayer request for Mom of 5 who needs prayer for safety and protection from a potentially dangerous situation and is also struggling with a critical financial situation. Pray for comfort and assurance as she takes steps to protect herself and her children. Update 8/5/11- While steps have been taken to protect the family, the estranged spouse has now asked to see the children he abandoned many months ago. This is not a safe or wise thing to permit. Please pray for the process to legally prevent him from being with the children will flow quickly and smoothly.

July 2011 Prayer Requests (Archived)

7/29/11:Mom of 3 needs direction and discernment about how best to provide for her family. She is nearing the end of her own educational journey and making ends meet seems an overwhelming hurdle at this point in the road. Pray for God's provision and guidance on choices and decisons she must make. He WILL give her exactly what she needs when she needs it. 8/6/11: Family received an anonymous "very big blessing". Praise God for His goodness and faithfulness!

Begin praying for God's provision for the Single Moms' Night Out and that women who need a break or some time to themselves will come. Also, please pray for volunteers to step forward and give some time to children who need healthy interaction with godly men and women. 8/30/11: Praise- Generous donation that will cover some small prizes, snacks, etc. for the SMNO! God IS faithful! Amen!

Praise- We've received a donation of 12 Cincinnati Reds tickets. Please pray for God to work out the details for one of the moms we know to go with us with her kids. Also please pray for God to provide the means to make this happen in His timing! 8/3/11: Praise- Through a donation given to Boundless Ministries, we can start planning for a day to use the tickets. The donation should provide parking money and some gas money for a single mom & her kids to come with us to a Reds game! 8/16/11: Praise- Mom of 3 boys and four of us from our family where able to enjoy a Reds game together on 8/14/11!

7/28/11:
Mom of 4 needs God's assurance of the calling He has laid upon her heart. God continues to provide, but the stress of not knowing how or when some days takes its toll. Pray for His loving peace to overwhelm her and continue to uplift and shape her calling. Pray God continues to make her strong and steadfast. 7/31/11: Praise-Family received anonymous gift of several hundred dollars. God's provision was perfectly timed once again!

Pray for us, the Barthauers, as our family seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. As we continue to heed the call into ministry that Holy Spirit has given us, pray that we set aside our wants and desires and burn with a passion to serve Jesus and Jesus alone. Pray for His divine Hand to be evident and to make obvious to our hearts which way He is leading. Pray that every day we would die to our will and submit to His. 8/1/11: Holy Spirit challenged Angela to set aside HER agenda and allow Him to lead and guide on how to serve and give to others. Not my will but YOURS be done! 8/6/11: Dale received discernment about some choices for our family. Praise God for His faithfulness to work in our lives!
