This was one of the movies at the top of my Summer Movie Wishlist and so far, it's been the best. Universal or Illumination Entertainment's animators must have known they had a gold mine in those adorable minions, because they are even more a part of this second installment.
Steve Carrell is still great and Agnes continues to steal the scene on several occasions, but those minions are just downright funny. The consensus in our van was that it was a good movie and it was nice to have a sequel as good as...or better...than the first. (Monsters University was good, but I'm considering it as a prequel.)
Given our experience last night, I even threw out to the kids that I would have been happy to pay full price for this one. (We saw a matinee) Go see it. If you have to take along a little person to keep you from feeling awkward, go ahead. You'll both be glad you went.
